Cocoa beans are found inside the tropical cocoa fruit and have been consumed and appreciated since 1500 BC by Mesoamerican civilizations.
They can be enjoyed on their own as a practical snack, or they can be added to breakfast cereals, yogurt, smoothies, or gelato. They’re great for giving a touch of originality to classic recipes for cookies, cakes, and other homemade sweets.
